A little help from our friends

Cupple was born from a desire to make something people would use. Over the last few weeks we have been inviting friends to ‘Cupple’ up together and start testing what we have made. We’re working with a small group of friends who all now have Cupple on their devices. We are in the region of double figures which some might say isn’t a big enough group to really test the platform. Yes and no.

Cupple is/was always intended to be an intimate experience so the fact we have a smallish group at this stage fits in with the ideology of the platform. Coupled with the fact the people testing the App happen to be a pretty clued up bunch I think we’re in for some interesting learning’s and feedback.

As the platform grows organically we’ll be looking to bring on more people who will be using the App and I’m sure will be letting us know of their experience. From a small start up perspective (ours) it’s a lot easier to manage the process with smaller numbers who you know and can put a face to. People you can tweet, text, bump into at events and talk to about your product. It’s nerve wracking when you put your work and idea in the hands of another person.

Don’t be afraid to ask friends to look at what you’re doing and don’t be disappointed that you haven’t got half of Europe signed up to test your product. In time the scale will come and if you’re listening, you’ll find out all you need to know about your idea.

It was cool to see Cupple on the front page of our local paper last week. We did an interview with John Hill for the Science and Tech section of the paper. Read all about it here…

“

“When you think of your vision, make it bigger and make it bolder. Not just taking a product to market and making some money off it, but genuinely changing the world. There’s an opportunity that big companies can’t do: it’s hard to focus on this platform when you’re big. People are migrating from desktops to mobiles, and big companies won’t do it: you guys will.”

“Don’t have a small dream when you can have a big dream: it costs just the same. Make sure you have a vision that goes out and changes the world versus just creating the incremental win. It’s much too fun, life’s too short, and this is ultimately how you will both attract talent and the funding.”

Reaching out eyes open

Today we made contact with Brad McArty - US Editor of @TNW

Brad posted a Tweet: So yeah, startups, today would be a freaking GREAT day to make a huge ripple in a very quiet pond. #justsaying

CuppleHQ replied: @BradMcCarty Hello from the UK and we’d love you to cast an eye over our latest creation www.cupple.mobi best wishes. #justsaying

Brad replied: @CuppleHQ I love this. Any chance of a Testflight?

CuppleHQ replied: @BradMcCarty can for sure hook you up. Be a pleasure. You’ll need x2 ;) to take it out properly.

Since then we have emailed Brad and look forward to sending him a build of the App. This is a great example of the power of Twitter and keeping your eyes open. As an early stage start-up it’s brilliant for us to build conversation with people who are connected, passionate and interested and for that, Twitter, we salute you. And thanks a million, Brad, for your interest.
